You ever had someone laugh at you because you tried something — make a sports club, approach a female, answer a tough question in class — and failed? Happens a lot in the formative teenage years, but adults are just as guilty of it. It has happened to me plenty of times.
But it doesn’t bother me and you should never allow it to bother you. I don’t have a problem being turned down or getting something wrong. The only way to get to the right answer is to sift through the wrong answers. Maybe you get it right the first time; maybe it takes ten tries.
Either way, there is no victory in not trying anything and then celebrating your noting-ventured-nothing-gained status. There is no trophy for succeeding at neutrality.
