My mom was strict. One of my cousins stayed with us for a few months when I was in 3rd grade. As an adult, that same cousin referred to my mom as a “drill sergeant.” Ha. I can’t say, since I only had that experience. I knew it was strict, but over 18 years, it becomes normal.

Mom didn’t use the word “discipline” much, but that’s exactly what she subjected my sister and me to. Get this done, Do it now, and real penalties for not doing it.

Discipline is a dirty word. People definitely don’t want it forced on them. But when I mention that I gave a TED Talk on the topic or that I’m an expert on Discipline, the universal response is, “I could use more of that!”

Today, I explain why exactly you would want more discipline too, and how to get moving on it.

  1. Never again am I going to miss a day with those things I want. It’s scary how much time I’ve skipped and time isn’t going to wait for me to get my shit together.

Great points Dre. Love the do things that are uncomfortable to condition your mind, to make it bullet proof. Even something as simple as don’t put the heating on every minute of the day in winter, get a little cold, get uncomfortable and use it to push yourself to the next level.

Going to be using these tips daily.

    • Glad to hear this Colin that you’ve found some reason to push yourself. Personally I like keeping the heat ON in winter! Haha…
