#251: Why You Need To Re-Create Yourself [WOYG Podcast]

Re-creating is needed for all well-functioning entities. We re-create our laptops and phones by restarting them after a long period of use. We re-create our faces and bodies by showering and sleeping. Children re-create themselves every day, by playing games.

Re-creating is needed for us in other ways. Forging a new personality. Adopting a new way of being or thinking. Pivoting in life and going in a new direction, simply because you chose to.

Today’s show is about re-creating yourself. If you’ve never done it, you’ll understand why you need to (at times). If you have maybe this will remind you that you’ll be doing it again sometime in the future.

  1. I always used to wonder where to start, then I listened to your podcast and the answer came in the form of knowing what you want, then asking the question, who do I need to be to achieve this. That’s how you re-create yourself. Who do I need to be to achieve my goals? Imagine, research, write down the characteristics and then work on becoming.

Dre’s Ted talks on confidence help here, you don’t fake it til you make it as you’re already doing it. You do it and become.

In The Art Of Seduction by Robert Greene he has a section on the seductive character read this and get inspired if you’re stuck on where to begin. It’s another great book, check out Dre’s reading list for more on this book.

Push your boundaries and expand your comfort zone. The good news is if you don’t like what you’ve become you can always change it again or you can always go back -- doubt this will be an option for you though.
