If you’ve listened to many episodes of this podcast, you know some of my story. Not making the high school team until senior year, and becoming a pro five years later. As daunting as the journey was, it is an eve I have these days as a professional speaker: it’s more interesting, with much lower lows, than the story of a top-ranked player who seemed destined to “make it” and did.
Damon Dash (Virtual Mentors episode #488) said it perfectly: You’re not a champion until you’re expected to lose and you win.
