Book Review: Crush It!

January 13, 2012 Book Review: Crush It!

This is from my Books page, on which you will find reviews of all of my favorites.

“One of the silliest questions I get is, “What kind of mic do you use?” To that I reply, why are you even worrying about that? Your content has nothing to do with the mic, the camera, the lighting or the set.

You might have thought your old boss was bad, but if you want your business to go anywhere, your new boss had better be a slave driver.”

I came across Gary Vaynerchuk when I watched this video a month or so ago. Gary runs a wine business. I don’t drink wine nor do I care about wine. But Gary’s message had nothing to do with drinking or any specific business. Gary’s message (and this book) are about building personal brands because that’s where he sees the word going, and this book explains exactly why. Gary is the latest in a line of personal-branding geniuses I’ve come across and became a fan of, along with Tim Ferriss and Tucker Max.

If you have any interest in making a business out of yourself and whatever it is you care about. This is a book you should read.
