Book Review: Outliers

July 29, 2009

This is a review from my Favorite Books list; the link from which will be also on the Books Page.

“The 10,000 Hour Rule.”

If you have any interest whatsoever in reading informative literature, you have heard of Malcolm Gladwell and probably also his most recent book, Outliers. The book discusses and dissects what exactly it is that allow some individuals to rise above the masses, going much deeper than the rote reasoning of talent and tireless hard work. Gladwell makes very convincing cases that higher achievement in varied aspects of life — sports and business are two examples — are due to factors beyond conscious control, such as when one is born.

This book is really too good for me to mess it up any further for you if you haven’t read it yet. Just go get it.
