This is a review from my Favorite Books list; the link from which will be also on the Books Page.
“Anytime we say that ‘someone should do something about’ whatever problem is bothering us, we are giving away our own heroic power.”
Carol Pearson’s book details the journeys humans take through six archetypes of being which you can see in the cover photo. My reading of this book was inspired by a TrueHoop blog post by an author who had read Hero; the blogger wrote about about how Michael Jordan was clearly a Warrior; I knew I had to read Hero after seeing that.
Overall this book, for me, was way too wordy and kind of a snoozer. But by the time I came to grips with this fact I had only about 100 pages to go so I gutted it out. Hero is not a bad piece of work in the slightest, it was just not for me.
