I read once — pretty sure it was Gracian — that man can approach his ideal if he conducts himself as if he were being watched by an audience or camera at all times.
Think of the shit you would stop doing and the things you would do additionally if you knew you were being observed.
When we are being watched, we sit up straighter. We choose our words more carefully. We think twice about our actions — in general, we consider what those observers will think of us. There are schools of thought both for and against this principle, and I reside on either side depending on the situation.
What would you change about what you’re doing right now if you knew you had an audience?
