Decision: Deciding What You Want Is The Most Important Step In Getting It - Dre BaldwinI get asked often for tips for acquiring some particular result. Jump high, start a website or personal brand, play professional basketball overseas. Most of the people who ask me these questions have a seemingly good idea of what they want to achieve — well, at least in the email they write me, they do.

What many of them are not getting is that the resources — information, help, connections — aren’t the difference makers.

The talisman of your success, whatever you may be after, is your decision to achieve it.

Once you make a decision, everything you think and do will flow in that direction. Some people haven’t ever experienced this type of energy before: that’s because they haven’t made a decision!

A definite, clear decision can be stated in one sentence. A decision has no contingencies. A decision is not dependent on the availability of any other person. A decision is not conditionally based on any resources outside of what you have readily available.

When a decision is made — a definite, clear decision — things happen. If nothing is happening, you have a decision to make.
