Just Like A Tree: You're Judged By Your Production - Dre BaldwinI heard Earl Nightingale say this one; “Human beings are judged the same way a tree is judged as useful or worthless — by the fruit he produces.”

Yes, you have great ideas and passions and plans and they all make sense. But what have you done? What have you achieved that you can show as proof of your value? To paraphrase the saying, you can’t eat your stories for dinner or pay your cell phone bill with excuses.

Trees don’t have the ability to explicate. If they’re not getting the job done, out comes the axe, and that’s the end of the conversation. If you were a tree in the yard, would you be in danger of facing the axe?
