We edit, crop and re-shoot Instagram videos, time the positing of status updates and study audience metrics to get that “right” mix of engagement.

I’m not saying that this is wrong. You would be well served to know how what you’re doing is affecting results.

But, consider the possibility that instead of adjusting yourself to the audience, you make what you wanna make, do what you wanna do, and be who you wanna be — then do the work to find the people who don’t need to be adjusted to — because what you represent is for them just as it is.
