We all have our work life, home life, school life for some, and other lives that we have to deal with and operate in.
If you wanted to get away from your own life and pay attention to others’, there is plenty of opportunity to do so — we see this in all the “reality” TV out there now — and a lot of people take advantage.
If you really want to get to where you want to be — and there is a deadline on it — forgetting about what other people are doing is a good way to start. It’s not selfish — remember everyone has a set of circumstances, no matter how rich, poor, tall, short, black or white. You’re just choosing to worry about you instead of worrying about them.
If people decide to watch your life instead of theirs, that’s their problem.
