The Simple Truth About Contradicting Yourself…

Months ago, Kamala Harris was running for President.

In the process of running, Kamala of course attacked her Democratic counterparts — specifically Joe Biden, former U.S. Vice President and current front runner to represent the Democrats in the 2020 general election — a basic move to gain traction over her counterparts.

Recently I read that Kamala, since dropped out of the race, is now endorsing Biden for President as the person who’s best fit for the job of defeating Trump and running the nation.

So, was all the back-and-forth debate between the two candidates all fakery?

No. It was both of them doing what they needed to do to serve their needs at that time.

And now that Harris is out of the race, she’s doing what she needs to do to serve her needs in the present moment.

A month from now, those needs may yet again change, which will bring another change in Harris’ speech.

On a basic level, you could call Kamala Harris out for contradicting herself. Back then, she attacked Biden on his political record — now she’s saying he’s the best for the job? Isn’t that what she presented herself as???

But calling her out wouldn’t achieve much.

One reason is, she probably wouldn’t hear you.

A bigger reason: we all contradict ourselves.

While you adjust yourself (what you talk about, do, and pay attention to) based on the given circumstances and our immediate needs, you may be the only one who sees your adjustments.

Politicians make their adjustments in full public view. Thus, they can be called out and attacked for changing directions on a subject.

All in the game. The only difference is, your side-switching was anonymous.

Don’t scoff at the game. Just learn the rules and play.
