No living human will ever be extolled in the eyes of everyone. No matter how good you get, there will always be dissenters who will seek (and find) reasons to discredit you. Actually, once you pass a certain point of success that very success begins to work against you.
People want to see you do good, but not too good. If you separate yourself too much from them they’ll do all they can, mentally, to bring you back closer to where they are.
When you’ve done things that can’t be debated, that doesn’t mean you’re in the clear. Facts are self-evident and speak for themselves. Opinions, however, are at the discretion of their owners. And there will never be a day when all opinions go in your favor.
Knowing this, accept it and let your facts stand alone like a statue: too heavy and established to be brought down by mere talk. Opinions are like wind and rain, trying in vain to bring you down.
Wind has never felled a statue.
