Question: how is that future version of you going to assume their position in your life? 

You probably think that you will slowly, gradually and carefully grow into that person. 

Piece by piece, day by day.

But probably not. 

The person that you are now has to make space for the new version. Which means, you’ll have to endure a transition period — during which the old you is gone, but the new you hasn’t yet stepped in — for you to make the advances you want to make.

It’s just physics. Two heavenly bodies cannot occupy the same space at the same time. 

It’s scary. Anxiety-inducing. Nerve-wrecking. 

All of that. 

Because you don’t know how long that transition period will last. And while you’re in it, going back to the old you is a very easy — and available — option.
