who adjusts? dre baldwinThey say that the guy at the front, the alpha male, doesn’t adjust his plan to fit the rest of the group: the rest of the group adjusts to fit him. By sheer force of will (i.e., what makes him the alpha in the first place), he gets things going his way. My way or the highway!

There is another school of thought to this — that a leader should adjust based on the people around him. Be flexible and find a way to make it work. Kinda depends on how you’re wired — some of us want to run things at all cost, others are willing to be malleable while still leading. No right or wrong to it.

And there’s the rest of the group to consider too. You’re not leading unless there are people following.
